Thai Military Reports Destruction of Over Six Scammer Buildings, Targets Transnational Crime

The Thai military revealed that during clashes on the Thai-Cambodian border, it destroyed more than six scammer buildings, including two that the U.S. had sanctioned for long-term fraud against American citizens, vowing to uproot transnational crime.

On 18 December 2025, reporters stated that the Thai military conducted operations attacking casino buildings and hotels used as bases by international scammer networks that defrauded many victims, including U.S. citizens. By 14 December, the military had destroyed at least six such targets. Importantly, among these were at least two main buildings—a resort and a casino hotel—that had previously been financially sanctioned and had their owners' assets seized by the U.S. due to involvement in scams deceiving Americans for a long time.

This explains why many countries, despite calling for a ceasefire, have taken no concrete action against Thailand, including the U.S., whose stance appears to be a polite caution as a peace supporter. In reality, the Thai government and military are not expanding the war but rather uprooting transnational crime and protecting people worldwide from scammer networks.

The Thai military emphasized that its actions are not only to defend Thailand's sovereignty but also to stand on the front lines globally in directly confronting new forms of threats.
