Mangkon Yontarakul, Former Seri Ruam Thai MP, Joins Pheu Thai to Strengthen Party in Northeastern Election

Mangkon Yontarakul, former Seri Ruam Thai MP and two-term President of the Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization, has officially joined the Pheu Thai Party to strengthen it ahead of the election battle in the Northeast.

On 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that last week Mangkon Yontarakul, former party-list Member of Parliament and former secretary-general of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, officially submitted his membership application to the Pheu Thai Party. This political move has drawn attention amid a period when various political parties are rapidly organizing and preparing for the upcoming election.

Mangkon is a seasoned politician in Roi Et province, having served as Member of Parliament for Roi Et during the Thai Rak Thai Party era. He also served as President of the Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization, trusted by voters for two consecutive terms. Additionally, Mangkon is the brother-in-law of Sek Sit Wainiyompong, the current President of the Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization.

His rejoining the Pheu Thai Party is seen as a key factor in strengthening the party’s electoral prospects in the Northeast, which remains a crucial stronghold for Pheu Thai. This development is closely watched in the evolving political arena ahead.
