Dr. Suphat Launches Political Campaign with the People’s Party, Running for MP in Songkhla District 2

Dr. Suphat openly begins his political work under the People’s Party, revealing that their ideals, thoughts, and dreams align. He views Sastra and Juree as well-matched rivals.

On 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at the Grand Ballroom on the 8th floor of Avana Hotel, Bangna, the People’s Party held a seminar to prepare for the upcoming election.

Dr. Suphat Hasuwannakit, candidate for MP of Songkhla District 2, stated in an interview that the People’s Party is the only party that fits his life and identity. As a rural doctor for over 30 years and a native of Hat Yai, he feels the party’s ideals, thoughts, and dreams align best with his own, making it the only viable option.

Regarding his competitors, Mr. Sastra Sripan from the Bhumjaithai Party is a strong contender known for his hardworking fieldwork. Another is Mr. Juree Numkaew from the Democrat Party, also a quality candidate and a voice for the local people. They are considered well-matched opponents.

When deciding between a party-list or constituency candidacy, Dr. Suphat reflected on his 30 years of work and prefers grassroots engagement—creating models on the ground. Policy work involves having real trial areas to make policies tangible and practical, not abstract. If elected in District 2, Hat Yai, Songkhla, he believes he can develop the area as a sandbox for various initiatives such as improving quality of life, flood prevention to reduce future disaster losses, clean energy, and public transport to make Hat Yai a national policy model.

Dr. Suphat expressed great hope in this party because clarity in stance and ideals is crucial moving forward. He sees the country’s major problem as unclear policies and believes the People’s Party can present the most concrete solutions. If truly in government, he expects significant change within four years. Current local dynamics are competitive and challenging, and the three candidates mentioned must prove themselves so that ultimately, the people will decide whom to choose.
