Narumon Endorses Thammanat as Suitable Prime Minister Candidate

"Narumon" endorses "Thammanat" as a suitable prime minister candidate. Character "Doing real work, doing more than talking." She dismisses attacks on the party and plans to unveil 400 constituency candidates and 100 party-list candidates on 25 December.

On 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Narumon Phinyosinwat, leader of the Kla Tham Party, spoke about the party's prime minister candidate clarity. She said the party has not yet held a meeting and is awaiting party consensus, similar to statements made by Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, the party's advisory chairman. However, as previously mentioned, party members and MPs believe Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat will certainly be one of the prime minister candidates, although no official discussion has taken place yet as preparations for the 27 December election are ongoing.

Following this, the Kla Tham Party plans to unveil candidates for all 400 constituencies and 100 party-list candidates on 25 December. The identities will be revealed on that day.

Narumon added that the party is not fixated on having exactly three prime minister candidates like other parties, as that is not a formula for success. Discussions will continue within the party's executive committee and member feedback will be considered.

When asked if the party-list candidates have been ranked, Narumon said the ranking has not yet been done, as the nomination committee and the executive committee stages have just been completed.

Regarding whether the party leader must be among the prime minister candidates, she said she is not concerned, nor is the party. It depends on suitability. For instance, in the previous election, a former party member who did not run as a party-list candidate was still able to work effectively. She herself is not concerned about whether she must run as a party-list candidate and said this will require further discussion.

As for whether party-list candidates will include Chalermchai Sri-on, former leader of the Democrat Party, and Lieutenant Commander Anudit Nakornthap, Kla Tham Party’s strategy chairman, no discussions have taken place yet.

When asked if having Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat as a prime minister candidate would be a positive or negative factor, Narumon said this is a key point the party will use in its campaign.CharacterLieutenant Colonel Thammanat is someone who truly does what he sets out to do, not just thinking about it but daring to act. We have gathered people withcharacterthat Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat often describes as “chemistry matches, coming together.”

“The chemistry matches—we are those who dare to act and actually do it. Mostly, we do more than we talk. Whenever there is something we can do to help the people, we do it. Our party’s policies will avoid unrealistic promises; there will be no campaign signs with price tags like ten thousand or three thousand baht. We focus only on what can truly be done. Kla Tham Party must deliver on what it promises,” she said. Narumon stated.

Regarding whether Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat being heavily targeted previously has affected the party's momentum, Narumon responded immediately, “That is our momentum because we dare to act. When we do a lot, we attract attention and thus are naturally subject to criticism.”

When asked about the target number of MPs in this election, Narumon simply said the goal is to do their best.

A reporter pressed on whether the party’s slogan is “do rather than talk,” Narumon said they do not talk much and act quickly to help the people. Whenever there is an urgent issue anywhere, the party goes first, regardless of whether they have MPs in that constituency. They do not work for votes but feel it is the responsibility of political parties and politicians to look after the people, especially those they can assist directly.

Narumon concluded that in this election, the Kla Tham Party will give its all, will not step aside, and will do its best.
