
Chotisak Onsung, prospective party-list MP candidate for the Palang Prachachon Party, announced his withdrawal after facing heavy criticism over his religious remarks.
At 14:40 on 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Chotisak Onsung, prospective party-list MP candidate for the Palang Prachachon Party (PPP), posted a message on Facebook stating: "To prevent the controversy about me from affecting the party, I hereby withdraw from being a party-list MP candidate for the Palang Prachachon Party."
Reporters noted that previously, Mr. Chotisak was an activist and political campaigner. He was among the first individuals publicly known for exercising the right to "not stand" during the national anthem screening in cinemas. Since then, he has been politically active continuously from 2006 to the present.
The main reason for Mr. Chotisak's withdrawal was the criticism he faced regarding his religious views.
