18 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Ms. Chayapha Wongsawat the younger sister of Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party’s prime ministerial candidate, clarified viaher personal Facebook pageregarding the use of her past personal relationship, which ended completely over five years ago due to differing views, being linked and used as a political attack to discredit Yotsanan’s political credibility, stating that this action is highly inappropriate. She solemnly affirms with her honor and dignity that her family has no involvement in the politics between the two countries and has never benefited in any form from the past marriage, affirming that her family are patriotic Thais.
Ms. Chayapha further revealed that she cannot change the past and thus kindly asks to cease spreading or distorting any untrue information, urging political opinions to be based on facts, honesty, and respect for human dignity. “Do not use the emotional pain of a woman’s past to attack politically, because just the regret from past mistakes is already painful enough.” She also asks fellow Thai citizens to exercise discernment when receiving news and not to believe ill-intentioned parties seeking to exploit this matter to attack and discredit Yotsanan politically.
