Kanchana provides a lengthy explanation on behalf of "Top" regarding his move to join the Bhumjaithai Party, citing difficulties for small parties and lack of space to continue working in the original party. She emphasizes that he has not abandoned his father’s Chartthaipattana Party.
On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Kanchana Silpa-archa posted onFacebookNuNa Silpa-archa stating that normally her Facebook does not discuss politics, but this time she wants to use this post to help explain why "Top" resigned from Chartthaipattana to join Bhumjaithai. (He did not ask her to explain, but she wanted to do so herself.)
This post will be somewhat long, but it comes sincerely from the heart based on truths many may not know. I will organize the explanation point by point.
1. One must acknowledge that working in politics today as a member of a small party is very difficult.
2. Did you know that in the last election in 2023, "Top" ran as the number one party-list candidate for Chartthaipattana and nearly lost? He became an MP only by vote calculation.
3. Although Chartthaipattana won all 5 constituency seats (thanks to the voters of Suphanburi), even during Banharn’s time, the party's vote count was never first, despite his and the party’s lifelong work for Suphanburi. In the latest election, the party ranked third in votes.,They even lost votes to parties that have never done anything for Suphanburi.
4. Because "Top" and the party’s MPs still want to serve the people of Suphanburi and the nation, they need a political space where they can continue their work.
5. Having decided to move to a larger party, they chose one committed to nation, religion, and monarchy — hence their choice of Bhumjaithai.
6. Resigning from Chartthaipattana to join Bhumjaithai does not mean abandoning the party founded by their father. As I said, staying where they were would mean no space to continue political work.
7. Like Banharn’s life — no matter how much he loved Suphanburi, he had to leave to work in Bangkok to build his foundation before returning to develop his hometown. If he had insisted on staying only in Suphanburi because of love, he wouldn’t have grown to achieve great work for his home and country.
8. The same applies to "Top" and the Chartthaipattana members who have moved to a larger party.
9. Regarding Chartthaipattana, I will serve as the acting party leader in the future but will not engage in political activities, only maintaining the party.
10. I explain as best as I can. I admit that the younger generation is not as capable as our father, but my brother and I have tried our best. Personally, I do not enjoy politics because I know it doesn’t suit me. When father was alive, I only helped him. For me, politics is useful only insofar as it helps me support animals and vulnerable people, because without this platform, government officials might not listen or assist us even when we ask for things within their responsibility. I have no personal gain. I thank those who understand my explanation.
However, I cannot control others’ judgments. I just want to clarify and do not want to hear anyone say again that the younger generation abandoned the party their father built. If "Top" were to quit politics, that would be abandoning his father’s work and not continuing it.
Thank you to everyone who read this to the end.
