Thammanat Vows to Establish Stronghold in Northern Thailand, Confirms Kla Tham Party Will Field Candidates in All Districts

Thammanat declared that the Kla Tham Party is ready to establish a stronghold in Northern Thailand by fielding candidates in every district, emphasizing the strength of local candidates who genuinely work in the community. He also highlighted Phayao as a model for revitalizing the northern economy.

At 5:30 p.m. on 19 December 2025 GMT+7 Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, serving as the advisory chairman of the Kla Tham Party (KTP), revealed the party's readiness to nominate candidates for Members of Parliament (MPs) in Upper Northern Thailand, confirming that the party will field representatives in every electoral district. Specifically, this includes 3 districts in Phayao province, 4 in Lampang, 3 in Nan, 2 in Mae Hong Son, and all 8 districts in Chiang Rai.

Lt. Col. Thammanat added that the Kla Tham Party is preparing to officially launch its parliamentary candidates nationwide on 25 December at the BITEC Bangna convention center. The public will see the party's representatives across all areas simultaneously. Most of these candidates are locals who have grown up in their communities, working closely with residents and continuously supporting them. This familiarity is a key strength for the party to effectively implement policies that genuinely address the people's problems.

Regarding Chiang Rai province, Lt. Col. Thammanat expressed his strong intention to help develop the area back to its former prosperity, similar to his hometown of Phayao. He especially mentioned Mae Sai district, which was once a major economic hub in the country but has since declined significantly and now requires revitalization in terms of economy, trade, and the quality of life for its residents.

"The Kla Tham Party is committed to political work centered on the people. I believe that having representatives who truly understand the local areas and people's issues is the key to improving the quality of life for the community," he said.
