On 19 December, Pol. Maj. Gen. Supisan Phakdinurat, known as "Police Colonel Meow," former deputy leader of the People's Party, spoke about his decision to resign from the People's Party to join the Thai Tham Party. The reason for his resignation was failing to be selected as a party list candidate for the People's Party. He had offered himself, but the party executive committee informed him he was not chosen.
"We asked to get on the bus, but they said it was full and wouldn't let us on. What else could I do?" said Pol. Maj. Gen. Supisan. He added that the People's Party's selection process was flawed, lacking thoroughness and clarity. Although he held the position of deputy party leader, when he inquired about final policy decisions or operational plans, he received no answers from the committee, which claimed it was confidential. This raised significant doubts for him.
Regarding his move to the Thai Tham Party, Pol. Maj. Gen. Supisan said he would serve as the party's advisory chairman and plans to run for the Bangkok 31st district parliamentary seat (Thawi Watthana-Taling Chan), directly challenging Mr. Anusorn Thammajai, the People's Party candidate. He chose the Thai Tham Party because its leader was once his doctoral student. He expressed confidence in his voter base in Taling Chan-Thawi Watthana district, as his wife, Mrs. Lakkhana Phakdinurat, currently serves as a Bangkok councilor in the area and has worked closely with the local community.
