Sutin Vows Not to Leave Pheu Thai Despite Multiple Party Offers, Cites Loyalty During Thaksins Imprisonment

Sutin admitted that 4-5 parties have courted him, offering him to be the prime ministerial candidate and party leader, but he refused to go. He said he does not want to abandon the party while Thaksin is imprisoned, calling it a sin. He insisted that no party is better than Pheu Thai and vowed that when Pheu Thai next forms the government, it will handle all problems.

On 21 December 2025 at 10:50 AM, at Chantrubeksa Anusorn School, Kaset Wisai District, Roi Et Province, Mr. Sutin Klangsang, former party-list MP of Pheu Thai, took the stage to campaign for Pheu Thai candidates including Ms. Jiraporn Sindhupr, Mr. Danuporn Punnakan, and Ms. Nawarat Pakoktom, who are running for MP in Roi Et Constituency 7 under Pheu Thai.

Mr. Sutin said in his speech that before today, he saw big campaign ads in Roi Et featuring his name. People called him constantly, asking if he was switching parties because of rumors. In reality, several parties approached, offering leadership roles, prime ministerial candidacy, and advisory positions. Some parties even persistently pushed him to be their prime ministerial candidate, including large parties. But he decided to stay because first, it must be a party the people can rely on and that can serve the public. No matter how wealthy or well-connected a party is, if it lacks heart for the people, Sutin will not join. The first party he looked at, which is very popular, is called “Bhumjaitham.” He said they deceive a lot, even in their MOA, making promises they don't keep. Their logo says “Say and Do,” but he questioned if they do good or evil, if they are capable, since so many people have died.

The second party is a rising star, interesting with young and youth members winning most urban constituencies. Their logo says “We Have, No Grey.” If he joined them, would he get to eat ‘grey larb’ (a pun implying dishonesty)? Thinking it over, he concluded it was deception because it helps the grey faction grow.

Another party honored him greatly, welcoming him to join, saying he is a quality person. But its leaders are still unsteady, and with figures like Tuta and Chalerm Yubamrung involved, it is an old-guard party, so he rejected it.

Another party contacted him but seemed superficial, so he declined. Yet another smaller party nearby invited him, but people from Sarakham told him he must be in a big party. He refused to join the opposition because if elected, he wants to be in government, not opposition. He said being in opposition is hard because you don't get budgets to help the people, so he rejected that option.

“No party is better than this one. I must stay with Pheu Thai. I will not flee while Thaksin is in prison; that would be a sin. Even if they offer me to be prime ministerial candidate, I won't go anywhere. If the people have nowhere to turn, how can I go elsewhere?” Sutin said during his speech.

Sutin continued, saying some parties accuse Pheu Thai of betrayal. Progressive Movement came first, Pheu Thai second. People who say that don’t think or remember. All Pheu Thai MPs voted twice for Pita Limjaroenrat as prime minister, but because senators opposed, Pheu Thai formed the government. So how can they call us traitors? He lamented that Pheu Thai intended to govern for four years to fight drugs and call center scams. Mr. Settha Thavisin was prime minister for one year but was removed, though he was approved through all ministerial steps. Someone filed a court case, so Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra became prime minister, but she was removed too. Regarding the phone call to Prime Minister Hun Sen confirming himself as defense minister and calming border tensions, after Sutin left, problems arose. Ms. Paetongtarn called to prevent unnecessary border fighting and invasion. The prime minister must speak for the country's interest, but ill-wishers recorded and accused them of selling out the nation. It was a setup related to fighting scammers, using border issues as a cover.

“That party that says ‘We Have, No Grey’—how can that work? Pheu Thai says ‘We Have, No Debt’ because we have plans to reduce people’s debts, such as helping elderly people reduce debts by one hundred thousand baht, easing their burdens. No party fights call center scams like Pheu Thai. Others don’t cut the problem at its root. Thaksin said they just dance around the issue, and the one dancing is Anutin, the Minister of Interior. Pheu Thai wants to say: ‘Come kill me, I won’t die.’ We will be government again, and next time we come back, we will fix everything,” Sutin said.
