
NIDA Poll reveals that Bangkok residents remain undecided on whom to vote for as prime minister. Meanwhile, "Theng Natthapong" and the People’s Party remain in second place, and "Anutin of Bhumjaithai Party" is a dark horse securing third place.
On 21 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the NIDA Poll Center of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) disclosed the results of a survey titled "Political Trends in Bangkok." The survey was conducted from 15 to 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7 among citizens aged 18 and over with voting rights in Bangkok, covering all 50 districts. It included diverse education, occupation, and income levels, totaling 2,000 samples. The survey used probability sampling from the Master Sample database of NIDA Poll, employing multi-stage sampling and collected data via telephone interviews. The margin of error was set within 0.05 at a 97.0% confidence level.
The survey asked which individual Bangkok residents would support as prime minister if decided today. Results showed: first, 47.25% could not find a suitable candidate; second, 16.95% chose Mr. Natthapong Rueangpanyawut (People’s Party); third, 10.90% selected Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul (Bhumjaithai Party); fourth, 9.00% favored Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva (Democrat Party); fifth, 2.75% chose Gen. Rangsi Kitiyansap (Economic Party); sixth, 2.25% selected Mr. Julpan Amornwiwat (Pheu Thai Party); seventh, 2.15% preferred Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan (Thai Sang Thai Party); eighth, 1.65% Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul (People’s Party); ninth, 1.35% Mr. Peeraphan Saleerutwiboon (United Thai Nation Party); tenth, 1.30% Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat (Pheu Thai Party); eleventh, 1.20% Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat (Thai Khao Mai Party). Another 3.05% mentioned others including Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, Mrs. Supajee Sutthampan, Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom (Thai Pakdee Party), Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit (Pheu Thai Party), Mr. Veerayut Kanchuchat (People’s Party), Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan (Palang Pracharath Party), Mr. Chatuporn Boruspat (Opportunity New Party), Mr. Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn (Rakchat Party), Mr. Wan Muhamad Nor Matha (Prachachart Party), Mr. Anan Panyarachun, and those who declined to vote (Vote No). Finally, 0.20% did not respond or were uninterested.
When asked about political parties Bangkok residents support today, first, 40.20% could not find a suitable party; second, 26.25% chose the People’s Party; third, 10.05% selected the Bhumjaithai Party; fourth, 9.55% favored the Democrat Party; fifth, 6.85% chose Pheu Thai Party; sixth, 1.95% supported both the United Thai Nation Party and the Economic Party equally; seventh, 1.20% favored the Thai Sang Thai Party. Another 1.90% mentioned others including Thai Khao Mai Party, Thai Pakdee Party, Palang Pracharath Party, Kla Party, Chart Pattana Party, Prachachart Party, Pheu Thai Ruam Palang, Rakchat Party, Opportunity New Party, and those who declined to vote (Vote No). Finally, 0.10% did not respond or were uninterested.
