Jatuporn Buruspat has officially launched the New Opportunity Party, stating that it is not a bureaucrats' graveyard but a think tank to solve the country's problems. He hopes to win 25 MPs and be able to propose a prime ministerial candidate, emphasizing that the party can work with all parties that do not violate the monarchy.
On 21 Dec 2025 at 10:30 a.m., at the New Opportunity Party office in JW Tower, Jatuporn Buruspat, party leader, held a launch event introducing the party headquarters and unveiling prospective candidates for party-list and constituency MPs. These included Saranwut Saranket, former MP for Uttaradit from the Pheu Thai Party and former member of the Thai Raksa Chart Party, and Rosarin Saranket, Saranwut's daughter and a prospective MP candidate for Uttaradit. Also attending was Prapat Chongsanguan, former governor of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand and former strategic committee member of the Thai Raksa Chart Party, who helped open the party.
Jatuporn said they volunteered today not because they seek positions, but because they truly want to solve problems for the people. He noted that political work is commonly encountered, but politicians often make promises they fail to fulfill, leaving people wondering when they will see results. This has been the case continuously.
Therefore, today they gathered friends and colleagues within the party. When asked if their party is a bureaucrats' graveyard, he laughed, explaining that a graveyard is a cemetery for the dead, but they are not dead. They want knowledgeable people to genuinely help Thai people. They are a think tank and will not let these people simply retire with pensions. This is why the New Opportunity Party was created for all Thais. Their approach is to lead politics with administration. They have experience and professionalism. If voters want these qualities, they should elect many of their candidates. Choosing their people and party will bring change to Thailand.
The party's policies include comprehensive welfare state measures, loyalty and protection of the monarchy, addressing climate change and global warming disasters, solving economic problems, reforming the education system, tackling inequality, and resolving land and forest issues. Jatuporn noted that while in the civil service, he did what he could; given more power, he would solve problems more effectively. The New Opportunity Party intends to shift rhetoric into concrete agendas and work, transforming individual interests into collective ones, turning crises into new opportunities that solve problems for all Thais. Choosing them today will surely lead to improvements.
Later, Jatuporn said the party’s launch was not late, as they have been working continuously with members from top levels nationwide. They now show a near-complete slate of candidates across regions without focusing on any particular area. Their goal is to secure enough MPs—at least 25—to nominate a prime ministerial candidate. He is the first prime ministerial candidate, with two more expected to be announced soon, aiming to include representatives from business and civil service sectors. When asked about cooperation with other parties, Jatuporn stated that he has already said the New Opportunity Party will work with any party that does not disrespect the monarchy.
