An extraordinary parliamentary session will open on Wednesday, 24 December, for the Senate to approve nominees to the Election Commission and the National Anti-Corruption Commission to fill vacancies.

On 21 December 2025, the Royal Gazette website published the Royal Command opening an extraordinary parliamentary session starting 24 December 2025. The command states that the Senate President reported that although the House of Representatives is dissolved, it is necessary for the benefit of the state that the Senate convene to perform its constitutional duty under Article 126, paragraph (2), which is to approve nominees for the Election Commission and the National Anti-Corruption Commission. Therefore, it is appropriate to call an extraordinary parliamentary session for the Senate to conduct this business starting 24 December 2025.
