Defense Minister Big Lek Reveals NSC Meeting on Unidentified Drones Near Suvarnabhumi Airport Air Force Ordered to Investigate

Defense Minister General Natthaphon Nakpanich revealed that the National Security Council held a meeting to address unidentified drones flying near the Suvarnabhumi Airport area and has ordered the Air Force to conduct an investigation.

At 8:35 a.m. on 22 December 2025, at the National Security Council office in Government House, Defense Minister General Natthaphon Nakpanich said before the NSC meeting that today's discussion focused on the detection of drones flying in the inner rear area near Suvarnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan Province, following reports of numerous light-emitting objects resembling drones flying in groups near the airport.

When asked if the case at Suvarnabhumi had been preliminarily investigated, General Natthaphon said he had assigned the Air Force to examine the matter on 21 December. He clarified that this issue is separate from the special ASEAN Foreign Ministers' meeting concerning the Thailand-Cambodia situation.

Regarding the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers' meeting in Kuala Lumpur on 22 December, General Natthaphon stated that Foreign Minister Sihasak Puangketkaew will handle the discussions and that they are awaiting statements from the Foreign Minister.
