Government Tightens Security During Long New Year Holiday, Urges Public to Report Suspicious Individuals and Drone Activity via 24-Hour Hotline 1374

The government is intensifying security nationwide during the extended New Year holiday, overseeing tourist areas and crowded spots. It calls on the public to report any suspicious persons or unusual drone flights through the 24-hour hotline 1374.

On 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Siripong Angkasungkiat, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, stated that the government places great importance on safeguarding the lives and property of citizens during the long New Year holiday, a period marked by heavy travel and numerous activities. The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) is implementing proactive measures to maintain peace and order nationwide from now through the end of the festival. All affiliated units have been instructed to intensify their security and safety operations.

Special focus is given to high-risk areas, urban communities, tourist destinations, event venues, and locations with large gatherings to prevent and mitigate risks that could disrupt public peace. Efforts will be coordinated with local administrative bodies, police, local agencies, other security units, and community networks to enhance surveillance, share information, and closely monitor situations on the ground. The aim is to prioritize preventive measures and ensure timely responses to incidents.

“We ask the public to play an active role in maintaining security. If you observe suspicious behavior, individuals, or objects—such as unauthorized use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles in public spaces, movements indicative of surveillance or covert activity by suspicious persons, or any other unusual events that could threaten security and public safety—please promptly report this information to authorities via the 24-hour security hotline 1374. This will enable efficient and timely intervention,” he said. Mr. Siripong added.
