“Teng Natthapong” secretly visited villagers displaced by the Thai-Cambodian clashes. He revealed that everyone is concerned about their homes and wishes to return to normal life, with a unanimous message: they want to go back home. He praised the Village Security Volunteers for tirelessly caring for the area.
On 22 December 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People’s Party, posted on Facebook photos from his visit to evacuation centers, saying that on the previous night (21 Dec 2025 GMT+7) he visited and spoke with evacuees displaced by the latest Thai-Cambodian border clashes. At the three centers he visited, there were over 800 evacuees. Some of those he spoke with reflected that although they received partial government aid and good care at the centers, their living conditions were not difficult.
However, they still felt “exhausted” from staying at the evacuation centers for a long time and worried because they had to leave behind their farms and livestock for nearly two weeks, losing income. They want to return to normalcy so they can resume their livelihoods and jobs to earn money for living expenses and debt repayment. Today, everyone expressed the same sentiment: “We want to go home.”
He also visited the Village Security Volunteers (VSV) and praised their strong, tireless work protecting the community’s safety, even in areas classified as orange or red zones with high risk. He called it the spirit of community leaders and caretakers.
“I send my encouragement to all affected by this clash and hope the situation improves soon,” Mr. Natthapong said.
