Thairath Poll Reveals! Theng Natthapong Tops as Most Wanted Debate Participant, Yoschanan Close Behind

Feedback from over 12,000 Thairath readers cast votes expressing their desire to hear visions"Natthapong - Yoschanan"The majority of people are most concerned about livelihood issues, followed by border security and gray capital. The upcoming election debate is expected to be intense.

Thairath Online reveals the results of a survey on the topic"Voices Before the Election: What Do You Want to See in the Thairath Debate?"The survey was conducted between 17-22 December 2025 with a maximum of 12,053 respondents. The results reflect the public's interesting demands as follows:

"Theng" rises strongly "Yoschanan" closely follows as a Top 2 favorite on the stage

When asked"Who do you want to see on the Thairath TV debate stage?" The results show that the public gave Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut the top spot with 22.99%, closely followed by Mr. Yoschanan Wongsawat with 18.25% interest.

Next in line were Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan with 13.39%, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva with 12.12%, and General Rangsi Kitiyantrasup with 11.26%. Meanwhile, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul and Captain Thammanat Prompao received 10.94% and 4.61% respectively.

A tough challenge for the new government "Livelihood issues" are more important than "politics"

Regarding topics the public wants to hear and see addressed, the issue of"economy" remains the top concern among Thais.

  • 37.09% indicated they want debates about"livelihood problems and economic solutions"the most, followed by gray capital and scammers at 25.76%, and Thai-Cambodian border security issues at 21.54%. Constitutional amendments were noted by 15.61%.

  • When delving deeper into"what people want the new government to address first,"more than 55.04% firmly chose livelihood issues as number one, far ahead of political matters such as "constitutional amendments,"which only received an urgent demand of 9.86%. Border security and gray capital-scammers were at 17.92% and 17.19% respectively.

Voices from "older generations" in Bangkok

In this survey, the majority of respondents were working-age and elderly individuals, with the largest group aged 46-59 at 30.25%, followed by those 60 and over at 25.76%. The groups aged 36-45, 26-35, and 18-25 were close in proportion at 17.74%, 14.40%, and 11.86% respectively.

Additionally, most survey responses came from Bangkok and its metropolitan area at 39.88%, followed by the Central region (including East and West) at 18.35%, Northeast at 17.87%, North at 12.10%, and South at 11.80%.
