Chaiwat calls on Trump to decisively tackle the scammer gangs in Cambodia before urging Thailand to cease fire, emphasizing that the problem remains unresolved and peace cannot be realized.
On 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Chaiwat Thanakmanusorn, leader of the Rakchat Party, commented on the U.S. statement urging Thailand and Cambodia to stop shooting, withdraw armed forces, and negotiate together. He called on U.S. President Donald Trump to reconsider his role and urgently address a critical issue affecting people worldwide and in Thailand—the problem of scammer gangs from Cambodia.
Currently, the threat from scammers is an international problem causing significant harm to many people in Thailand and numerous countries worldwide. If this issue is not seriously resolved, true peace between Thailand and Cambodia cannot be achieved.
"If the scammer issue remains unresolved today, peace between Thailand and Cambodia will never happen," Chaiwat said.
