The Prachachart Party launched its economic team, recruiting Associate Professor Dr. Rungrueng Thipyasiri onto the party list, emphasizing solutions to livelihood issues and inequality without imposing costs on the public.
On 23 December 2025 GMT+7, at the Prachachart Party headquarters, a press conference was held to announce economic policies and solutions alongside the introduction of the party's economic team. Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, party leader, chaired the event with party leader Wan Muhamad Noor Matha and economist Associate Professor Dr. Rungrueng Thipyasiri, who officially joined the party.
Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong stated that the Prachachart Party is committed to being a key force in resolving the public's economic and livelihood challenges, especially as Thailand faces difficulties with living costs and inequality. He confirmed that Associate Professor Dr. Rungrueng Thipyasiri, formerly part of the economic teams for the Future Hope Party and Pheu Thai Party, has willingly joined the party as a member and will run on the party list.
Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong noted that current economic problems require a team with knowledge, expertise, and real experience. The party seeks individuals who have played key roles behind major national policy decisions to jointly develop systematic solutions—from reducing inequality and poverty to combating corruption and generating national income—without increasing burdens on citizens.
Wan Muhamad Noor Matha said he has worked with Associate Professor Dr. Rungrueng for over 20 years since the Future Hope Party era, a time when that party was able to form a government. He affirmed that Dr. Rungrueng is a capable thinker, scholar, and economist who has played an important role in developing the country's policies.
Wan Muhamad Noor added that although the Prachachart Party is not large, it stands firm on clear ideology and achievements, especially its role as opposition during 2019–2023, scrutinizing corruption and injustice, pushing beneficial laws for the public, and working on justice processes that respect human dignity for all, including border populations, marginalized groups, and prisoners. He likened the party to “a diamond—small but beautiful and shining.” The addition of Associate Professor Dr. Rungrueng is like gaining a new diamond to help drive the party’s policies forward.
Associate Professor Dr. Rungrueng Thipyasiri thanked the Prachachart Party for trusting his experience and knowledge. He explained his decision to join was mainly due to his faith in Wan Muhamad Noor Matha as a leader with integrity and vision, confidence in Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong as a diligent politician focused on solving public problems seriously, and the party’s ideology standing with the people, especially in the three southern border provinces.
Dr. Rungrueng stated that Thailand is facing severe economic and fiscal crises alongside livelihood difficulties, with growth rates below potential. The Prachachart Party has intensively developed economic policies that are nearly complete, which he believes are modern, relevant to current conditions, and capable of elevating Thailand to international standards. These policies also understand and address the needs of Muslim communities nationwide, based on studies and advice from experts in economics and religion.
