Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, leader of the Thai Sang Thai Party and prime ministerial candidate, showcased her debate vision by calling to restart the country, eradicate corrupt individuals, create educational opportunities for Thai children, and promote a public pension system to address aging issues in the population.
At 17:30 on 23 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Thairath TV began the first debate stage ahead of the 2026 election, with Kai Pongsakhem Satyaprasert as the moderator. The eight prime ministerial candidates from political parties included Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party; Yotchanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai Party candidate; Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party; Teerachai Phuwanatnaranuban, deputy leader and candidate of the Palang Pracharath Party; Peerapan Sareerathwipak, leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party; Suchatveera Suwansawat, leader of the Thai Kao Mai Party; Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, leader of Thai Sang Thai Party; and General Rangsit Kitiyanasap, leader of the Economic Party. Meanwhile, two other parties, Kla Tham and Bhumjaithai, did not send prime ministerial candidates to participate.
Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, leader of Thai Sang Thai Party and prime ministerial candidate, expressed her vision that Thailand has been stuck for a long time and needs to restart anew. The economic crisis stems from our deeply flawed structures: a cumbersome government, outdated laws, and entrenched corruption. Thailand has become like an old person who is both sick and poor. She asked, 'Who can we fight against in this condition?' Thai Sang Thai dares to address the root causes and boldly purge corrupt individuals without fear of anyone.
She proposed increasing the death penalty, empowering 50,000 citizens to remove independent organizations and the Constitutional Court if they side with corrupt people, and establishing a Civil Society National Anti-Corruption Commission. The government bureaucracy must shift from obstructing to supporting. They will suspend 1,000 licenses that hinder honest people's livelihoods within one year. Opportunities will be given to small players, women, and SMEs to access low-interest loans through public and SME funds. Thai children will have free education up to a bachelor's degree but with reduced study time of 3-4 years to enter the workforce at age 17-18, learning skills demanded by the global market. Elderly issues will be addressed with a public pension, health promotion, and upskilling for seniors to return to work.
Thailand no longer has time to be anyone’s testing ground, having lost much time under inefficient and corrupt administrations. Today, Thai Sang Thai is ready with leadership, a party, honest people, and experience successfully handling the country's difficult challenges.
