Democrat Party Affirms No Alliance with Kalatham Party, Highlights Abhisit’s Commitment to Integrity Over Advantage

Radklao revealed that the Democrat Party has firmly anchored its political ethics and will not form an alliance with the Kalatham Party. She highlighted Abhisit's steadfast commitment to truthfulness, emphasizing correctness before political advantage.

On 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Radklao Intawong Suwankiri posted on Facebook addressing public interest regarding clarity on government formation, following yesterday’s Thairath debate where questions arose about which parties could or could not join the coalition. She took the opportunity to straightforwardly explain the Democrat Party’s intentions and position.

She recalled the return of Abhisit Vejjajiva as the Democrat Party leader, emphasizing that his comeback is not about position or power but to restore public trust in the party and make it a viable choice again amid widespread political frustration and hopelessness among citizens.

What has been evident about Abhisit throughout is his adherence to truthfulness, principles, honesty, and ethical standards—values highly prioritized by the party’s new executive committee. They believe good politics must start with correctness before seeking advantage. Therefore, the clear announcement during the debate that the Democrat Party will not join a coalition with the Kalatham Party serves to provide transparency to the public rather than playing ambivalent politics or leaving an escape route.

She clarified that the Democrat Party has not declared itself as opposition but has made a straightforward statement to offer the public a clear choice about the kind of ethically grounded politics they want.

An important question for reflection is whether the public wants politicians who speak ambiguously to preserve political space or leaders who firmly state their position, even if unpopular with some. Good politics should be based on clarity, responsibility, and open, reasoned debate rather than avoidance for short-term gain.

The Democrat Party chooses to stand on principles and invites the public to judge what kind of politics truly leads the country forward.
