“Akniti” Unveils 4-Year Roadmap to Push Thailand’s GDP Beyond 3% with “Economy 10 Plus” Policy to Revive the Nation

The Finance Minister revealed a 4-year roadmap to push Thailand’s GDP beyond 3%, while promoting the “Economy 10 Plus” policy to revive the country after 73 days of successfully pulling the economy out of crisis.

On 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, announced key policies to revive Thailand’s economy. He set a goal to continuously achieve GDP growth exceeding 3% over the next four years through the "Economy 10 Plus" strategy, focusing on inclusive, quality, and full-potential growth.

Mr. Akniti explained that Thailand’s economy in the recent period was like a vehicle stuck in mud. Without stimulus measures, GDP could have plunged to as low as 0.3%. However, urgent policies such as “Half-Half Plus” and “Travel Good Get Refund” helped pull the economy out of crisis successfully within 73 days.

The Finance Minister added that to ensure stable future growth, ten measures were introduced: revitalizing small-scale citizens, supporting 13 million welfare cardholders, continuing “Half-Half Plus,” issuing savings bonds, capping electricity costs at no more than 3 baht for the first 200 units, and resolving debts through the Asset Management Company (AMC).

"Our main challenge is to fully revive the economy and get it running at full speed again. The “Economy 10 Plus” policy will be the key to ensuring that all levels of Thai society benefit from this growth," said Mr. Akniti. He detailed the measures: Made in Thailand SMEs Plus—boosting capital and loan guarantees for SMEs to compete; Investment Plus—accelerating public-private partnership (PPP) investments for long-term growth; Produce and Sell Plus—focusing on products that meet global market demands; Trade Plus—enhancing trade and production with smart technology; Green Economy Plus—shifting toward sustainability, as "caring for the planet is the path to survival and prosperity." Other measures include Digital AI Plus—using AI technology to create jobs and distribute income to citizens; Equal Education Plus—ensuring genuinely free education accessible everywhere to create employment; Elderly Plus—enhancing skills for seniors to have jobs, income, and comprehensive care systems; and Thailand Plus—reforming state enterprises and public services to be efficient for the happiness of Thai people.
