The Senate approved Suchart Suntrikesem and Manupan Yosathasanee to serve as commissioners of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), filling vacant seats following a confidential background check session.
On 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at the Parliament building, the Senate held an extraordinary session chaired by Deputy Senate President Boonsong Noisophon to consider and approve two nominees for the NACC commissioner positions, as recommended by the standing committee after completing background and conduct checks.
After over one hour of a closed session reviewing reports, a secret ballot was held with the following results: Mr. Suchart Suntrikesem, Director-General of the Criminal Court, was elected to replace Pol Gen Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit (who retired at age 70/term ended), receiving 150 votes in favor, 0 against, 28 abstentions, and 1 no vote. Mr. Manupan Yosathasanee, Chief Justice of a Supreme Court panel, was elected to replace Mrs. Suwana Suwanjutha (term ended), with 162 votes in favor, 0 against, and 18 abstentions.
These results mean both Mr. Suchart and Mr. Manupan received majority approval from the current Senate members to serve as NACC commissioners. The next step is to submit their names for the royal appointment.
