Prime Minister Anutin chaired the royal cremation ceremony for Sergeant Samreng Klangprakorn, a brave soldier who sacrificed his life near Hill 350 during a Thai-Cambodian border clash.
On 24 Dec 2025 at 14:30, at Huai Po Temple in Prakhon Chai District, Buriram Province, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the royal cremation ceremony for Sergeant Samreng Klangprakorn of the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment. He was a brave soldier who died fighting foreign forces near Hill 350 close to Ta Kwai Castle in Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Prime Minister’s Secretary-General Traisulee Traisornkul, Permanent Secretary of Interior Atsit Sampanrat, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration Narucha Khosasivilai, Army Chief of Staff General Chaipruk Duangprapat, Buriram Governor Piya Pijana, along with government officials, military, police, civilians, and many locals from Buriram Province offering support to the Klangprakorn family.
His Majesty the King graciously bestowed royal honors including ceremonial decorations, the royal funeral canopy, royal patronage throughout the funeral rites, and presented the monk’s robes and three baskets of food offerings for the soldier’s ashes.
Sergeant Samreng Klangprakorn was a native of Buriram who enlisted with the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment at Weerawattayothin Camp in Surin Province. Known for his courage and fighting spirit, he bravely engaged in combat against foreign forces near Hill 350 close to Ta Kwai Castle, where he was fatally injured by an enemy explosion. He was 38 years old.
