Anutin and Sihasak Confirmed as Prime Minister Candidates for Bhumjaithai Party

Bhumjaithai Party has confirmed Anutin as its number one candidate for prime minister and appointed Sihasak as the second candidate, recognizing him as an experienced figure capable of leading Thailand.

On 24 Dec 2025 at 22:40 GMT+7, Bhumjaithai Party released an official document bearing the party logo stating that it has resolved to nominate two individuals deemed suitable for the position of prime minister or prime minister candidates: Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, party leader, and Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew. Both have accepted the nominations. The party cited Mr. Anutin's current role as prime minister, his experience in managing the country, and the public's support for his continued leadership, especially given the multiple threats facing Thailand today, necessitating ongoing leadership. Mr. Anutin was regarded as the most appropriate candidate. Meanwhile, Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew was nominated as the second candidate due to his extensive experience as Minister of Foreign Affairs, his capability to restore Thailand's respected position on the global stage, and his ability to work cohesively with political and security sectors, earning recognition both domestically and internationally.

Ms. Supachai Suthamphan and Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, who were previously expected to be prime minister candidates for Bhumjaithai Party, have both accepted to continue working with the party if it wins enough seats to lead the government formation.

During the Bhumjaithai Party policy announcement, Mr. Anutin told party members running in the election to inform the public that if Bhumjaithai is chosen, Ms. Supachai Suthamphan will serve as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
