The Bangkok Election Commission has arranged the venue to accept MP registrations for 33 constituencies. Candidates are warned that once assigned a number, they must not hold entertainment events but may begin campaigning. They should be cautious about placing signs that obstruct views or traffic. So far, no violations of election laws have been detected.
On 25 December 2025 GMT+7, at the Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japanese) in Din Daeng, officials from the Bangkok Election Commission have prepared the venue to receive registrations for the 33 constituency-based MP elections. Registration opens from 27 to 31 December at Sports Hall 2 of the center, which is divided into two areas: the outside for media work, where broadcasters have set up live transmission vehicles and equipment to report on the registration atmosphere; and inside the hall, designated for candidate registration. Officials arranged tables and chairs for early arrivals before 08:30 and set up registration areas for all 33 constituencies according to a predefined layout. To facilitate traffic and safety, police from the Din Daeng Metropolitan Police Station, Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers, and city officials coordinate to maintain order in the surrounding area. Spectators and supporters inside Sports Hall 2 will have access to bleacher seating designated for cheering and supporting candidates.
Lieutenant Candidate Samphan Saengkamlaert, Director of the Bangkok Election Commission, stated that the registration process for the constituency elections beginning 27 December requires candidates to arrive before 08:30 to register at the front, arranged by constituency for all 33 districts. At 08:25, officials will announce a five-minute warning to record how many candidates have arrived on time. At 08:30, registration closes to allow remaining candidates to complete registration. Then, the Bangkok Election Director will brief candidates on the process: the constituency election director will hold a meeting with candidates in each district to seek consensus. If candidates agree, it will be recorded; if not, a lottery will be conducted. Before the lottery, the election director will verify all documents and registration fees. Incomplete submissions require candidates to register the next day, no later than 31 December at 16:30, with a record noting their deferral.
The Bangkok Election Commission director added that after document verification, the next step is a two-part lottery. First, the constituency election director draws lots to determine candidate registration order and assigned candidate numbers; the results are recorded. Second, candidates draw lots themselves to finalize their candidate numbers and submission order, with joint documentation. Then the registration process proceeds: candidates submit documents and pay registration fees. The election director issues receipts and registration certificates, completing the registration. Upon leaving the registration room, candidates may use their assigned numbers to campaign but must not hold entertainment events, celebrations, or parties until the election concludes.
Asked about organizing supporters and party leaders cheering candidates, the Bangkok Election Commission director said that non-candidates are allocated seating in the bleachers only. Inside the registration area, only one candidate and one assistant per constituency are allowed. Currently, Bangkok is 90% prepared for the constituency MP registration process, with a full rehearsal scheduled for 09:00 on 26 December. Personnel, equipment, and venue are all ready.
When asked if any complaints regarding election law violations have arisen since the election decree was issued, Lieutenant Candidate Samphan said no complaints have been filed so far. Regarding procedures, candidates must submit documents before proceeding with four activities: 1. electronic campaigning, 2. campaign assistants, 3. campaign vehicles, and 4. organizing campaign rallies. These must be reported to the Bangkok Election Commission office.
Regarding regulations on campaign sign installation to avoid obstructing traffic, Lieutenant Candidate Samphan stated that according to campaign guidelines, various agencies are currently submitting reports to the Bangkok EC office for the director to issue an official announcement. Meanwhile, political parties may already erect campaign signs following the 2023 election guidelines, which are guaranteed to comply with the law. On registration days, all related documents will be provided. However, it is emphasized that campaign signs must not block views to prevent danger; obstructed visibility may cause traffic accidents. This point is strongly stressed.
