Chonnapat Admits Feeling Hurt as Election Nears Amid Attacks, Undecided on Running in Songkhlas District 4

Chonnapat, former Songkhla MP from the Kla Tham Party, admits feeling hurt by attacks as the election approaches. He stresses that he was the former MP who visited the most areas in southern Thailand. He has not yet decided whether to run in Songkhla's District 4 but insists the candidate must come from his family.

On 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Chonnapat Naksua, former Songkhla MP for District 4 from the Kla Tham Party, spoke about the upcoming election. He stated that his former electoral district remains a family stronghold, but he has not yet made a clear decision on whether to run.

Regarding allegations of involvement with online gambling websites, Chonnapat said he welcomes relevant agencies to carry out investigations according to procedures. He has submitted a factual clarification letter to the Anti-Money Laundering Office. He affirmed that it is not wrong for society to raise questions, and once under investigation, everything depends on the officials' discretion.

When asked about his morale amid these events, Chonnapat admitted feeling somewhat hurt because such incidents often arise near elections. However, he explained to locals that he is ready to undergo a transparent judicial process. Without doing so, he would face ongoing attacks.

Regarding the trend of several political parties declaring they will not collaborate with the Kla Tham Party, viewing it as a gray-area party linked to scammer networks, Chonnapat said the party has already undergone scrutiny, similar to explanations given by Captain Thammanat. He emphasized that everyone has both strengths and limitations.

On public confidence for the upcoming election, Chonnapat said locals still trust him due to his consistent work. It can be verified that he is among the most active politicians in southern Thailand, closely assisting people and never distancing himself despite being a former MP.

Finally, when asked what message he wants to send to his critics, Chonnapat urged society to be understanding and to leave matters to the legal process. He acknowledged concerns about political impacts on the party and said he has consulted with senior figures, especially Captain Thammanat, who encouraged proceeding straightforwardly through the judicial process without worry.
