Pheu Thai Party Election Policy Highlights: Electricity Cost Capped at 3.70 Baht/Unit, 30% Agricultural Profit Guarantee

Review Pheu Thai Party's policies for the 2026 election campaign, highlighting a 30% profit guarantee for agricultural products, electricity prices capped at 3.70 baht per unit, and concrete solutions to cyber threats, human trafficking, scammers, and shadow capital problems.

On 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Pheu Thai Party unveiled its election policies for 2026. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the party's prime ministerial candidate, stated these policies represent hope for the people amid numerous challenges including economic issues, geopolitical tensions, global warming, and rapid technological changes. The approach centers on four key areas.

First is debt relief and support for grassroots citizens and farmers, which remains the core of the Pheu Thai Party. The party emphasized that economic solutions must begin at the base, comparing it to shifting a pyramid by moving the foundation and watering the roots through comprehensive debt cancellation, reducing expenses, and increasing income in every dimension.

Second is promoting existing economic engines, including agriculture, manufacturing industry, and services sectors, by enhancing efficiency through science and technology in all forms to elevate the country's competitive capacity.

Third is developing new economic engines, focusing on high-value agriculture such as medicinal herbs and medical foods, high-value industries like medical devices, semiconductors, AI, and high-value service sectors such as the wellness economy.

Fourth is the government's role in building confidence, security, and rule of law alongside investing in human development, welfare systems, infrastructure, and environmental care to support the long-term growth of high-value economies.

Key Pheu Thai policies include:

  • A 30% profit guarantee for agricultural products to protect farmers from price volatility.
  • Addressing cyber threats, human trafficking, scammers, and shadow capital problems.
  • Enhancing online transaction security with joint responsibility from banks and telecommunication networks.
  • Establishing a fund to reimburse victims deceived by fraudsters.
  • Creating a blacklist of transnational criminals.

  • Electric train fares at 20 baht across all routes.
  • Air-conditioned bus fares at 10 baht.
