Narumon announced the awakening of the brave spirit of the Kla Tham Party, ready to confront challenges in every arena. She firmly declared the nomination of Thammanat as the party's sole prime minister candidate because he dares to speak, confront, and take responsibility—not just talk or sell dreams.
At 14:00 on 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Kla Tham Party held an event to launch candidates for constituency and party-list members of the House of Representatives, led by Col. Thammanat Prompao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, serving as the party's advisory chairman, and Ms. Narumon Phinyosinwat, Minister of Education and party leader, along with candidates from across the country.
Ms. Narumon said the Kla Tham Party is not new but has operated for over five years. It was formerly called the Thai Economic Party, a political platform where members have continuously fought in political arenas. After a leadership change and her appointment as party leader, the party was renamed Kla Tham on 6 Aug last year. She affirmed the name change was not preplanned but a response to the political situation at that time, emphasizing the party's consistent loyalty and cooperation.
Ms. Narumon stated the Kla Tham Party began with only two MPs but has continually expanded its membership and strengthened the party. It is now the most prepared political party, with the largest membership and the first able to field candidates in all 77 provinces. Few other parties have achieved full nationwide candidacy. She stressed that Kla Tham has clear policies, continuous work, and proven results, avoiding unrealistic promises or deceptive projects such as giveaways or impractical schemes.
Ms. Narumon also revealed the decision to nominate the party's prime minister candidate. After ongoing discussions with Col. Thammanat, they agreed the party must be clear so voters know exactly who their prime minister would be—not a nominee of anyone else. Therefore, she officially announced Col. Thammanat Prompao as the party's sole prime minister candidate.
Ms. Narumon explained the reason for nominating Col. Thammanat is his courageous leadership—he dares to speak, debate, and stand up for farmers and the public in the House of Representatives, Cabinet meetings, and even when facing protest groups. Not every minister dares to listen and address such issues. She believes such courageous leadership can bring real change to the country.
"We need someone brave like this, not just a smooth talker or dream seller. We are a special breed—the Kla Tham breed. Whenever we fight together, we never lose. Winning the by-election in Nakhon Si Thammarat’s 8th district was no coincidence but courage. This time, we must ask ourselves: Are we crazy enough? Are we brave enough? Because we are the brave Kla Tham people. See you in Parliament."
