
The Pheu Thai Party has revealed its prime ministerial candidates for the 2026 election, putting forward Thaksin's nephew Yotchanan Wongsawat, along with Suriya Jungrungreangkit and Julphan Amornwiwat.
On 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7, for the 2026 election, the Pheu Thai Party continues to field a full quota of three prime ministerial candidates, all of whom are included in the party's list of 100 party-list MPs.
1. Mr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, also known as Dr. Chen. He is the nephew of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, a cousin of former Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, and the eldest son of former Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat and Mrs. Yaowapa Wongsawat (nicknamed "Jae Daeng"), who is Thaksin Shinawatra's sister and elder sister of former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Thailand's first female prime minister.
2. Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit. He is the uncle of Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, former leader of the Future Forward Party.
3. Mr. Julphan Amornwiwat. He currently serves as the leader of the Pheu Thai Party and is the son of Sompong Amornwiwat, a former minister who served multiple terms.
Recently, the Pheu Thai Party has begun unveiling its campaign policies for the 2026 election.
