2026 Election: Thai Kao Mai Party Unveils First Four Policies to Transform the Golden Axe Handle

The "Thai Kao Mai Party" highlights its first four policies for the 2026 election, aiming to transform the "Golden Axe Handle" into the ASEAN economic hub.

On 26 Dec 2025 GMT+7, as the election candidate registration period approaches, the Election Commission (EC) will open registrations from 27 to 31 Dec 2025 GMT+7. The first day, 27 Dec, is for constituency MP candidates nationwide, and 28 Dec is the first day for party-list MP candidate registrations. Various parties have unveiled their prime ministerial candidates and campaign policies.

The Thai Kao Mai Party introduced its prime ministerial candidates: Mr. Suchatvee Suwanawat, also known as Dr. Ae, the party leader, as candidate number one, and Khunying Kanlaya Sophonpanich, the party's advisory chairwoman, as candidate number two, under the slogan "Thai Kao Mai, A New Step for a Stronger Thailand."

Thai Kao Mai Party Policies

The party proposes four key policies to transform the "Golden Axe Handle" into the ASEAN economic center.

Policy 1: Southern High-Speed Rail
Accelerate connections between the South, Bangkok, Malaysia, and China to open doors to massive trade, tourism, and income opportunities for southern residents.

Policy 2: Andaman Railway Line (First in History)
Upgrade the long-neglected Andaman coast, increase tourists by 3 million annually, generate 150 billion baht in yearly income, and raise southern residents' wealth by 10% annually.

Policy 3: Transform Phuket into an "ASEAN HUB"
Develop transportation and public utilities, establish world-class universities and companies, making Phuket a special city, economic center, and a financial engine for the country.

Policy 4: Four-Heart Policy to Sustainably Address Southern Disasters
Establish a real-time disaster command center, revise urban planning, apply engineering technology, and set standards to handle natural disasters, ensuring southern residents do not "suffer floods and pain every year."

The Thai Kao Mai Party aims to elevate the South as a driving economic force for all of Thailand, as the region deserves proper development.

Additionally, the party proposes free education up to a bachelor's degree and the cancellation of student loan debt (Student Loan Fund).
