Anutin urged not to accuse any party of using grey money, insisted he never intended to compete with Theng, pointed out that Section 112 existed before the People’s Party. He sang “Heart Custody Service” when asked about waiting for a phone call on the evening of 8 Feb 2026.
On 26 Dec 2025, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke about the chances of forming a government, noting that several parties have refused to join a coalition with the Kla Party, and when asked if this pressures Bhumjaithai, he replied that the decision lies with the people.
Regarding Captain Thammanat Prompao’s statement that if no one partners, they will join hands themselves, Anutin said he listens to the people’s decisions. Since becoming Bhumjaithai leader, he has never decided alone but based decisions on election results. He reiterated that they always translate the people’s choices into their demands and urged not to ask who will partner with whom, saying he goes with the people and his voters.
When asked about the absence of any decision on parties using grey money, Anutin said he would not believe accusations against any individual or party before courts or justice processes decide. The most important thing is to wait 46 more days to see what the people want.
Regarding Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, announcing a government challenge to Bhumjaithai, Anutin said all parties compete; he sees nothing unusual. He emphasized he never competes against anyone personally but competes through policy proposals and with himself to gain public trust in Bhumjaithai.
Asked about confidence that announced policies will increase MPs to hundreds, Anutin said they must be confident. He added that Bhumjaithai no longer works alone. Previously, they had some gaps and lacked experts in certain areas, but now Bhumjaithai presents comprehensive policies across economics, foreign affairs, security, society, education, and health, even naming specific individuals.
After unveiling policies, many singers performed, inspired by the promise to resume debt repayment for the 'Half-Half Plus' scheme of 2,400 baht. Anutin said not to expect anything, adding he has no bags to hang on anyone’s door.
Anutin also addressed the Prachachon Party leader’s claim that Bhumjaithai’s leader uses Section 112 as a fairy tale to fool children, saying Section 112 is not a fairy tale as it existed before the Prachachon Party, since 2009 when Bhumjaithai was founded. He mentioned liking the term 'founded' as the military uses it for territorial restoration.
When pressed about Natthapong’s statement not to use this issue to deceive voters between Bhumjaithai and Prachachon, Anutin reiterated that if anyone intends to amend Section 112, he cannot join. It is clear that if they reach a consensus, amendments can be made. He questioned who is actually deceiving the people, insisting he never does. Whenever Section 112 is touched, Bhumjaithai will not be involved. He stressed his clarity on this point.
Regarding Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the Progressive Movement, saying the Prime Minister misunderstands Section 112 amendments because Prachachon only wants to amend the amnesty law, Anutin said amnesty means those who violate Section 112 would not be held accountable, which is not Bhumjaithai’s stance. He insisted he is not mistaken.
When asked if this election closes doors to any party, including Pheu Thai, Anutin said he follows the people. In previous elections, making premature commitments and ignoring the people failed. He said he does not deceive voters and wants to listen to them first. The decision to bind him with anyone lies with the people.
On the night of 8 Feb 2026, when asked if he expects a flood of phone calls, Anutin sang “You Are Entering the Heart Custody Service” before immediately leaving the interview.
