Suradech Yasawat has become another member to leave the Palang Pracharath Party following Big Pom's impending retirement. He confirmed they parted on good terms and has not yet decided which party to join; if not ready, he may take a hiatus.
26 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Mr. Suradech Yasawat, deputy leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, (PPRP) revealed that he has submitted his resignation from the Palang Pracharath Party because General Prawit Wongsuwan, the party leader, has stepped down. He said he did not know whom else to support. When he joined, it was to assist General Prawit, whom he saw as a senior with ideals similar to his own. Furthermore, General Prawit had a good relationship with his father, having once been his father's subordinate. He is a senior figure Suradech respects deeply. Being with him made Suradech comfortable, but due to changes possibly related to General Prawit's health and age—he is now 81 years old—he decided to withdraw. When General Prawit stepped back, Suradech felt no reason to remain and took the opportunity to resign alongside him.
“I promised General Prawit to keep my word. I once said that if he steps down, I will step down as well because I would not serve as deputy leader if he is not the leader. I cannot stay if the party leader changes; I will only stay if General Prawit remains the leader. I have no other thoughts at this time and confirm that my resignation is not due to any conflict. We parted on good terms.”
Suradech added that since helping General Prawit until now, he has used his own money throughout. He never drew any funds from the party or from General Prawit. It has been a voluntary effort, using his connections, resources, dedication, and time.
Regarding his political future, he said he is still uncertain. He admitted that many parties have approached him since he knows almost all of them. He has not yet decided which party to join, and his political future remains open. If a party with appealing ideals that he can work with emerges, he might decide to join. However, timing is also a factor. If this time is not right, he is fine with taking a break or a hiatus. Politics can be pursued at any age. Ultimately, whichever party he joins, he wants to feel comfortable. .
