Kungfu Promotes Small but Big Thinking, Sai Ruam Phalang Launching 11 Constituency and 15 Party-List MP Candidates

Wasawat Kungfu, leader of the Sai Ruam Phalang Party, unveiled 11 MP candidates from Ubon Ratchathani to Surat Thani, aiming for steady growth. He stressed the party has not aligned with any political bloc and urged all sides to unite in addressing border issues.

26 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Mr. Wasawat Puangpornsi, also known as Kungfu, leader of the Sai Ruam Phalang Party. He held a press conference to introduce the party's candidates for the House of Representatives (MPs), both constituency and party-list types, at the Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai in Bangkok, while announcing the party's stance and political direction for the upcoming election.

Wasawat said he remains concerned about tensions along the border. Today is the final day before official MP candidate registration. Although Sai Ruam Phalang launched candidates relatively late, he affirmed the party is ready to work and that several former MPs have decided to join the shared ideology.

Regarding the party slogan “Small but Big Thinking, Sai Ruam Phalang,” Wasawat revealed that he has spent time living near the land border at Chong Bok, Ubon Ratchathani, just about 10 kilometers from active operational zones. This gave him deep insight into the issues and reinforced the important role of political parties and MPs to stand alongside the people and frontline soldiers.

The party leader emphasized that Thais should not be divided but must collaborate to find solutions and protect national sovereignty. His security experience highlights the need for politics to seriously set policies. Though the party is small, it is ready to drive big ideas and support efforts to handle pressures from the Phnom Penh government responsibly and sincerely for the military and the people.

“I may not have much presence in debates or media, but this voice represents border people and the small, humble population. Sai Ruam Phalang was founded in 2022. We may be a nano-sized party, but we will grow steadily without rushing for rapid expansion.”

Wasawat added that the party is fielding 11 constituency MP candidates and 15 party-list candidates. He compared politics to warriors needing both swords and swordsmiths. The party’s list candidates are not about glamorous images but real workers operating machinery like backhoes and dump trucks, helping soldiers and people on the frontline—those working quietly behind the scenes. He acknowledged Sai Ruam Phalang is a small party in a competitive political environment and urged voters to consider it as an alternative. He also stressed that the party’s two former MPs maintain their dignity and will not disappoint the public.

Regarding election goals, Wasawat said the party aims to win seats in every constituency where it fields candidates if voters give the small, outside-the-mainstream party a chance. He recalled that in the previous election, the party ran only two candidates and both won. Concerning joining the government, if invited, it would be an honor, and the party is ready to support any policies that benefit the people, protect border residents' lives, and reduce military losses.

On the political bloc formation among Bhumjaithai, Pheu Thai, and Prachachon parties, Wasawat observed that each party has now taken its stance. The most important issue now is national unity because international security threats remain, which the government must urgently address first.

In Surat Thani, the party is confident in Dr. Wachiraporn Kanjana, former MP of Surat Thani, who is running in constituency 3. The party emphasizes reliable candidates who do not abandon their constituencies.

“The party’s ideals align with those of Surat Thani. We work thoroughly for the nation, the people, and to uphold the institution.”

She concluded by saying she always tells her team not to fight others but to compete with themselves and deliver tangible results to the community. Continuous work on the ground makes her unconcerned about the party’s size.
