
A royal decree has granted special military promotions to 19 soldiers who died while performing their duties during emergency and normal times.
On the night of 26 December 2025 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website published an announcement from the Prime Minister's Office regarding special military promotions. It stated that a royal decree has granted special military ranks to military officials under the Ministry of Defence who died in the line of duty during emergency and normal times, totaling five individuals as follows.
Thai Armed Forces Headquarters
1. Captain Aisoon Wiwatjan was promoted to Rear Admiral.
Effective from 11 September 2024 GMT+7.
Army
2. Captain Julapong Thapmeechai was promoted to Major General.
Effective from 30 April 2024 GMT+7.
Navy
3. Captain Thawat Charoensuksawat was promoted to Rear Admiral.
4. Lieutenant Commander Sanchai Phonchan was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.
Both effective from 2 October 2023 GMT+7.
5. Chief Petty Officer Suphap Kampricha was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.
Effective from 9 November 2022 GMT+7.

At the same time, another announcement was published from the Prime Minister's Office regarding special military promotions. It stated that a royal decree has granted special military ranks to military officials under the Army who died in the line of duty during emergency situations, totaling 14 individuals as follows.
1. Sergeant Major Thawatchai Bupha was promoted to Major General.
Effective from 25 July 2025 GMT+7.
2. Sergeant Major Theerayut Sijuaijai was promoted to Major General.
3. Sergeant Major Anothai Pongkaew was promoted to Major General.
4. Sergeant Major Apirum Songput was promoted to Major General.
The last three effective from 28 July 2025 GMT+7.
5. Staff Sergeant Jirayu Singan was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
6. Staff Sergeant Noppol Boonlert was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
7. Staff Sergeant Kritsada Noikhot was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
8. Staff Sergeant Jirayus Intuman was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
All four effective from 5 July 2025 GMT+7.
9. Staff Sergeant Amarin Phasuk was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
Effective from 28 July 2025 GMT+7.
10. Second Lieutenant Sarawut Namsawat was promoted to Captain.
Effective from 25 July 2025 GMT+7.
11. Private Waranchit Yuangsuwa was promoted to Second Lieutenant.
