The atmosphere at Sports Complex Venue 2 was lively as the 2026 Election Commission officially opened candidate registration and began the number draw for Bangkok constituency MP candidates after most political parties arrived early.
At 08:00 on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Samphan Saengkamloet, Director of the Bangkok Election Commission Office, confirmed readiness for registration, stating that candidates should arrive before 08:30. The constituency election directors will conduct the number draw order. Each candidate will then draw their number before submitting documents and paying fees to complete registration. If documents are incomplete or fees insufficient, candidates will be asked to return with proper materials. It is expected the process will be swift if candidates cooperate.
The Bangkok Election Commission director added that political parties and candidates were instructed not to hold celebrations or festivities after receiving their numbers. Singing, dancing, or any entertainment is prohibited. Qualification verification will be completed within five days. Meanwhile, candidates may campaign freely after registration. Regarding campaign signage, regulations have been issued periodically, prohibiting signs that block traffic or obstruct views. Today’s assessment expects over 10 candidates per constituency.
