Election 2026: Jatuporn Buruspat leads the New Opportunity Party's team of candidates for Bangkok MPs registering for the election, aiming to build a "welfare state" and emphasizing the need to provide opportunities to all Thai people.
On 27 December 2025, reporters reported that today marks the start of candidate registration for members of the House of Representatives by electoral district, as designated by the Election Commission. Registration is open simultaneously nationwide across 76 provinces and Bangkok from 27 to 31 December 2025, between 08:30 and 16:30. Thairath is broadcasting live from Bangkok at Venue 2 of the Bangkok Youth Sports Center, Thailand-Japan (Din Daeng), where many political parties chose this auspicious time to register.
Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, leader of the New Opportunity Party, revealed that the party is a coalition of friends, including civil servants and young people united by shared ideals. They want to see a happy, beautiful, and green country focused on environmental issues. They came together and invited him to lead the party. At the time, he was Minister of Commerce. After discussions, their views aligned, so he agreed because he also wanted to improve the country.
All members agree that the main issue is the welfare state. They want Thailand to be a true welfare state, considering the entire system—not just salaries or wages—but including health care from birth until the afterlife. They stress the importance of providing opportunities for all Thai people with equal access. If benefits fall only to civil servants, it excludes others. They aim to distribute opportunities so all Thais can access them. They also clearly emphasize protecting institutions. Today, they have submitted candidates for all 33 districts nationwide, covering about 20 provinces.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trakarn Panthumlertrujee of the New Opportunity Party said he joined with faith and confidence in the party team’s political management. He noted Thailand is not ready to face crises and that they must turn challenges into new opportunities for all Thais. He invites all citizens to exercise their right to vote.
