Tae Mongkolkit revealed he switched to the New Alternative Party because he failed to pass the Democrat Party's Bangkok MP candidate selection process. He exposed that Satit Pitutecha crossed out his name and is set to push the Dignity Protection Act to success.
On 27 Dec 2025 at 9:49 a.m. at the Thai-Japanese Stadium in Din Daeng, Mr. Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, prime ministerial candidate of the New Alternative Party, told the news program Khao Khao Khiao that the party was established in 2018 with permission from former Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha. At that time, he founded the Thai Sriwilai Party and won one MP seat—his own—earning him the nickname “P'Tae Rama 7.” Later, he became known as “Tae 007” for investigating the government with spies in every ministry, which earned him the moniker.
When asked about his 2019 MP win but failure to get elected in 2023, leading to months without a seat and going into business, then moving to the Democrat Party and working with Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on during his party leadership, he was appointed advisor for 1.5 years. When internal party politics arose and Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva regained leadership, he entered the Democrat Party’s Bangkok MP candidate selection for Rama 7 district, reaching the final round. However, he learned that Mr. Satit Pitutecha, deputy party leader overseeing central region elections, crossed his name off the paper because he disliked Mr. Chalermchai, despite Mongkolkit’s past favors to Satit.
"They said I did not meet the party’s high standards, so I resigned. After resigning, P'Wan Yu Bamrung called me to join the Palang Pracharath Party on 18 Dec, but I was unsure if Uncle Pom would continue. Eventually, P'Wan resigned and took a break, and I also decided to rest. I told my colleagues this, but veteran comrades I advised urged me to successfully promote the Dignity Protection Act. They said I could join any party, but I replied it was too late to establish a new party. I admit I didn’t join P'Tor’s Klatham party, but P'Tammanat called me. At that time, I was still with the Democrat Party."
Mr. Mongkolkit added that initially, he planned to take a break in Japan, but veteran comrades urged him to enter parliament. Meanwhile, Mr. Rachen Trakoolwiang will propose him as the New Alternative Party’s prime ministerial candidate tomorrow. When the anchor joked that he might soon be called Prime Minister, Mr. Mongkolkit said it might really happen since he has already registered 25 candidates and plans to nominate 80 constituency MP candidates.
