Julpan declared his intention to reclaim the top position for Chiang Mai MPs, aiming to sweep all districts. He emphasized the strength of Pheu Thai candidates working hard on the ground and listening closely to the voices of the local people.
On 27 December 2025 at 05:15 GMT+7, Mr. Julpan Amornwiwat, leader of the Pheu Thai Party and prime ministerial candidate, along with Mr. Pichai Lertpongadisorn, Chief Executive of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, led Pheu Thai candidates for Chiang Mai MPs in paying respects to the sacred city symbols at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and the Kruba Srivichai Monument.
The Pheu Thai candidates for Chiang Mai MPs included Dr. Theerapat Tonpiriyaikul for District 1, Dr. Pethai Tesorlar for District 2, Mr. Chakraphon Tangsutthitham for District 3, Mr. Phanu Charoensuk for District 4, Ms. Atchararat Chantasen for District 5, Mr. Banjongsak Wongrattanawan for District 6, Mr. Nithikorn Wuttinanichai for District 7, Mr. Natphat Ratphathai for District 8, Mr. Yongyut Yavichai for District 9, and Ms. Srisopa Kodkhamlue for District 10.
Mr. Julpan announced readiness for the election and vowed to reclaim all 10 parliamentary seats in the province with a decisive ringing of the bell three times at the Kruba Srivichai Monument to mark the occasion.
Later at 07:00 GMT+7, Mr. Julpan led all 10 candidates to Chiang Mai 700th Anniversary Sports Stadium, the registration venue for Chiang Mai's constituency MPs. The atmosphere was lively with supporters cheering them on.
Mr. Julpan expressed excitement despite not running for a constituency seat himself. He noted that Chiang Mai is the birthplace of the Thai Rak Thai Party and later Pheu Thai, producing several former prime ministers from Chiang Mai, including Thaksin Shinawatra, Somchai Wongsawat, Yingluck Shinawatra, and Paethongtarn Shinawatra. This election, Pheu Thai has two prime ministerial candidates from Chiang Mai: himself and Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, highlighting their special bond with the province.
Mr. Julpan said today they came with Mr. Pichai Lertpongadisorn, Chief Executive of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, and all 10 candidates to advance their election campaign with policies to address people's problems. He emphasized working hard as representatives of the people, which is Pheu Thai's strength. Their candidates and MPs engage closely with the community, listen carefully, and are determined to win all seats and reclaim Chiang Mai for the party.
Mr. Julpan reflected that the last election was affected by a wave they misjudged near the end. This time, they have learned lessons. Their party is a longstanding political institution that has experienced both proud moments and painful challenges such as coups, party dissolutions, and prime minister removals.
"Now entering the election, we present policies responsive to the people. We will fight wholeheartedly until the very last day. We are confident yet cautious, fully engaging with the public. Our candidates dedicate themselves to the people, and we will achieve victory in the election," he said.
