The Thiantong family, a prominent political family in Sakaeo, has finalized constituency divisions and is fielding candidates in all three constituencies: Trinuch and Bodi for the Palang Pracharath Party, and Sruang for Pheu Thai. Meanwhile, in Ubon Ratchathani, the atmosphere is lively on the first day of candidate numbering, with fierce competition among major and minor parties, especially in the district of Kui's daughter featuring Chuwit and Sai Ruam Palang.
On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that candidate registration is open from 27 to 31 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at the Sakaeo Provincial Administrative Organization. The province is divided into three constituencies according to the Election Commission's announcement. Many candidates registered early on the first day, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Sakaeo remains under close observation as a key political battleground with intense competition, especially involving the Thiantong family, a significant political family in the province. This time, they have fielded candidates in all three constituencies, namely:
Constituency 1: Mr. Bodi Thiantong of the Palang Pracharath Party, assigned number 5.
Constituency 2: Ms. Trinuch Thiantong of the Palang Pracharath Party, assigned number 7.
Constituency 3: Mr. Sruang Thiantong of Pheu Thai Party, assigned number 1.
In Ubon Ratchathani Province, major parties are actively fielding candidates to compete for 11 available seats spread across several parties. Leading parties including Pheu Thai, Bhumjaithai, Kla Tham, Sai Ruam Palang, and Prachachon have all submitted candidates. At registration, the Election Commission conducted a lottery to determine the order of candidate numbering for each party.
Ubon Ratchathani has 11 constituency seats. This election sees strong competition among major parties. Pheu Thai, the incumbent with four MPs last time, faces a tough challenge due to declining popularity, causing former MPs and key candidates, including the father and son from the Pitakpornpanlop family, to switch parties—the father joining Kla Tham and the son moving to Bhumjaithai. New candidates have been nominated to try to hold onto the remaining seats firmly.
Bhumjaithai Party, which last election won seats for the first time with three MPs, aims to retain those seats and increase from three to four. This includes the candidacy of Ms. Sudarat Pitakpornpanlop, daughter of Kui Chuwit Pitakpornpanlop, running in constituency 7.
The remaining four seats are contested mainly between Kla Tham and Sai Ruam Palang. In constituency 2, Kla Tham has Wutipong Nambut, a multiple-time champion and former Democrat Party candidate. The other three seats will see fierce battles, including constituency 3 where Sai Ruam Palang fields returning candidate Pimpakarn Plasamak, constituency 9 with Madam Kob Jitrawan Wangsupakitkosol switching from the Provincial Administrative Organization to run in the constituency under Sai Ruam Palang.
Constituency 10 features Mr. Somsak, or Sie Chiang, an incumbent from Sai Ruam Palang, who controls the Thai-Cambodian border area. His popularity among both soldiers and local residents is strong, and he is expected to perform well against newcomer Mr. Watcharaphol Chuekhong of the Pheu Thai Party.
