"Piya Pitutecha" denies resigning as Chief of Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization to run for MP. He says he supports all parties but in his heart favors Bhumjaithai and Democrat parties.
On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that on the first day of candidate registration, many candidates from various political parties came enthusiastically to register, accompanied by numerous supporters. During the qualification document verification, one candidate, Ms. Khemika Kosem, Bhumjaithai candidate for District 2, was disqualified due to lacking qualifications because she did not participate in the local election voting. The party will have to find a new candidate.
Meanwhile, Mr. Piya Pitutecha, Chief of Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization and a prominent figure in Rayong, who had previously appeared with the Bhumjaithai Party, said that people misunderstand that he resigned as PAO Chief to run for MP. In fact, he remains PAO Chief and is supporting all parties. However, in his heart, he supports Bhumjaithai candidates in 3 districts and Democrat candidates in 2 districts.
Reporters noted that Mr. Piya Pitutecha is the older brother of Mr. Satit Pitutecha, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party overseeing the central region. This has drawn attention that the election in Rayong province will be a contest between the Pitutecha family factions, divided into two camps: Bhumjaithai and Democrat parties.
