“Phai Lik,” the former champion, is confident in planting his flag in Kamphaeng Phet and remains undeterred by attacks from Kla Tham. Meanwhile, PChon seeks to challenge the champion, promoting a policy of clear orange without any gray areas.
On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters described the lively atmosphere at the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Election Commission office, which opened for the first day of candidate registration for the Kamphaeng Phet parliamentary election. From early morning, candidates and their supporters arrived, creating a vibrant scene around the area. Kamphaeng Phet has four parliamentary constituencies, with party leaders confidently bringing their candidates and supporters.
Mr. Warathep Rattanakorn, leader of the Pheu Thai Party in Kamphaeng Phet, said the party is fielding candidates in all four constituencies. He expressed confidence because the party members have previously worked together. Their return to Pheu Thai is to collaborate with longtime colleagues. He believes the public will offer strong support. All four candidates will engage closely with the people. They are new faces spanning all age groups, already known by locals. Regarding changes this election, Mr. Warathep said that regardless of election trends, positive or negative, they must prepare thoroughly by meeting with constituents as much as possible. On being regarded as political heirs, he said this should not be viewed negatively but rather as readiness, commitment, and confidence to serve the people.
Meanwhile, Mr. Phai Lik, Secretary-General of the Kla Tham Party, stated that their candidates remain the same across all constituencies. He is quite confident in this election battle, emphasizing their continuous work and proven track record. He believes they can return successfully. Regarding various attacks, he views them as mere political rhetoric, confident that the public already knows who works effectively. He added that such criticism might complicate government formation after the election.
New challenger Pray Parinwat Taweekitsiraphong, candidate for Kamphaeng Phet Constituency 1 from the PChon Party, aims to challenge the incumbent Phai Lik. Although new, he is determined to win, saying the winds of change have arrived. Everyone wants change and to try something new. This is a good opportunity to offer himself to serve the people. Having launched his campaign for some time, he has received positive public response and is 100% confident. He wishes to change toward equality—"Thai not gray, Thai equal, Thai modern"—seeking to eliminate corruption. Regarding his competitor, he said they have met with no issues and expect the contest to follow the rules.
“Somsak” Aims to Sweep All 5 Constituencies in Phitsanulok
At the King Naresuan the Great Shrine in Phra Ratchawang Chan, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province, Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, led all five Pheu Thai parliamentary candidates from Phitsanulok—comprising Constituency 1 candidate Mr. Jadet Chantha (number 4), Constituency 2 Mr. Noppol Luengthonganara (number 1), Constituency 3 Mr. Jenwit Chantha (number 4), Constituency 4 Ms. Pimpitcha Chaisupakitjaroen (number 1), and Constituency 5 Mr. Ekpong Kulcharoen (number 3)—to pay respects to King Naresuan the Great, the sacred figure of Phitsanulok, to pray for success in the upcoming election.
Mr. Somsak expressed confidence in Pheu Thai candidates who have consistently engaged with the people and followed party policies. He said the party’s policies are popular nationwide, carefully crafted from thorough problem analysis and diligent work. Despite past obstacles limiting their full efforts, they remain undeterred. Particularly in Phitsanulok, after witnessing various political parties over the years, he is confident that the people they have met trust Pheu Thai and the party’s prime ministerial candidate, who has also inspired confidence. Their candidates work hard both in parliament and in community outreach to solve problems effectively, making it unlikely they will lose any constituency. The party aims to secure all five seats by having the public choose their candidates to work in all constituencies.
Regarding whether the Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidate will visit the lower northern region, Mr. Somsak said that Phitsanulok, Tak, and Sukhothai provinces are key areas where the candidate will definitely appear. Candidates have presented policies publicly for the people to know. The prime ministerial candidate’s presence will boost confidence in the party’s ability to form a government and fulfill its promises. The party’s policies include both old and new initiatives aimed at advancing agricultural product stability, ensuring farmers earn at least a 30% profit margin as a basic guarantee, with targets set even higher. This aligns with the party’s vision of becoming an agricultural hub. Other policies cover health care, the 30-baht universal health scheme, disease prevention, combating scammers and drug abuse, all aimed at helping Thai people live longer and avoid poverty. The party also addresses issues like PM 2.5 pollution, drought, and flooding, with strong confidence that these policies will be well received by the public.
Mr. Somsak noted that campaigning across the three lower northern provinces poses no concerns. He explained that in Tak Province they previously had no representatives, so more effort is needed to engage voters there. In Phitsanulok, they previously won three seats out of five, and in Sukhothai, which has four seats, they secured all four last time. Altogether, they currently hold seven out of twelve seats in these three provinces but aim to win all twelve. This challenge motivates the party to work harder to secure every seat going forward.
