Dr. Tosaporn Resigns from Pheu Thai, Joins New Opportunity Party, Calls it the Hardest Decision of His Life

Dr. Tosaporn posted his resignation from the Pheu Thai Party and announced he is joining the New Opportunity Party. He declared he will not run for MP in Phrae constituency against his former party as a sign of respect and gratitude, acknowledging it as the most difficult decision of his life.

On 27 Dec 2025, Dr. Tosaporn Serirak, former MP for Phrae under the Pheu Thai Party, posted on Facebook that he will not run for the constituency election in Phrae. Over the past two years, he was elected as MP for Phrae Constituency 1 under Pheu Thai and expressed deep gratitude to all the people for their love and support.

Due to the 2017 Constitution and the highly volatile political climate, he admitted his performance may have been lacking. He voted several times against the party line, spoke out of sync with party policies, and sometimes seemed to support parties opposing Pheu Thai, which may have caused discomfort among party members. Given these limitations in his role as MP, he reconsidered his position.

"Therefore, I have decided to resign from the Pheu Thai Party. I must admit this is one of the hardest decisions of my life, as Pheu Thai is a party I am deeply connected to, with many fond memories and comrades I respect and love. After resigning, I was contacted by several parties, for which I am very grateful. In the end, I chose to work with the New Opportunity Party because it offers a chance to fully focus on helping the poor, the elderly, vulnerable groups, and public health."

Dr. Tosaporn added that as a sign of respect and gratitude to Pheu Thai, he will not run for MP in Phrae Constituency 1 against the party’s candidate, allowing Pheu Thai to nominate a suitable person in his place. He wished the party success in the election. Regardless of his role, he remains a Phrae native who cares deeply for the people and will continue working to assist those in need throughout Thailand. He sincerely thanked everyone for their love, loyalty, and ongoing support.
