On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at the Vayupak Conference Room, Centra Government Complex Hotel, it was the second day for registering candidates for the constituency-based House of Representatives election. Kanweer Suebsang, leader of the Plawatt Party, after experiencing the political scene in Bangkok, said that the public is not more excited than before. Rather, they feel frustrated at the country’s stagnation and lack of progress, which reflects the current situation. He said, “If people feel hopeless, look to the Plawatt Party. We can unite people without needing to be politicians; we just need those who hope for new politics.” The party is fielding candidates in all 33 Bangkok constituencies, having submitted 25 so far. Nationally, they submitted 70 candidates, reduced to 65. For the party-list, 24 names were submitted today. The sole prime ministerial candidate is himself. He explained that he left his former party to start a new one because he wanted to do something new.Tags: [election candidates, political frustration, new party, Bangkok constituencies, prime minister candidate]

When asked about parties they could not work with, Kanweer said it depends on principles. The Plawatt Party’s principles are clear: connecting with the world, creating opportunities for Thailand, and leaving no one behind. Therefore, if any party’s policies align with theirs and do not conflict with their ideology, regardless of which party it is, Plawatt can agree to cooperate.Tags: [political principles, party cooperation, policy alignment, Plawatt Party ideology]

Asked whether supporting Anutin Charnvirakul as prime minister would hinder public trust, Kanweer said it would not be an obstacle. He explained that at that time, he clearly expressed his intention to support Anutin because there was no other option; it was the last and only choice. If they had abstained or chosen differently, it would have been worse. Although Anutin made promises to the public, the parliament was dissolved before they could be fulfilled. Therefore, the public will be the ultimate judge. He saw supporting Anutin as the only solution but made clear he would not join the government, choosing instead to serve fully in opposition.Tags: [political trust, Anutin Charnvirakul, government support, opposition role, parliamentary dissolution]

When asked which party-list number he wanted, Kanweer said they would like a good number, but in reality, any number is acceptable.Tags: [party-list candidacy, election preferences, candidate numbering]
