"Suchatvee and Khun Ying Kanlaya" highlight education policy as the foundation to unlock Thai potential to compete globally, stressing that "Thai New Forward" commits to constructive politics and will not cooperate with gray capitalists.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at the Vayupak meeting room, Centra Government Complex Hotel, it was the second day for registration of constituency-based House of Representatives candidates, but the first day for party-list candidate registration, allowing up to 100 names. Simultaneously, each party submitted their prime ministerial candidate list. The atmosphere was lively from morning, with various political parties and supporters arriving to register for the election.
Leading the Thai New Forward party, Mr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, also known as Dr. Ae, party leader and prime ministerial candidate number one, arrived alongside Khun Ying Kanlaya Sophonpanich, party advisory chair and prime ministerial candidate number two.
Mr. Suchatvee told Thairath TV news team that the Thai New Forward party logo combines four arrows: the first represents education; the second, building a new economy prioritizing Thai people and investing in science and technology; the third, ensuring good quality of life, disaster management, and health; and the fourth, combating corruption at its root and supporting virtuous people to have a place in Thai society.
When asked about his involvement in education, Khun Ying Kanlaya said she grew up in a rural area and reached her current position thanks to education. She wants to use this opportunity to enable Thai people to learn science, technology, and AI from an early age to become our intelligent companions and to maximize Thai potential, so the country will have quality people to overcome crises and compete internationally.
Asked about preferred candidate numbers, Mr. Suchatvee said any number would do, but personally favors 1 and 9. Number 1 symbolizes their arrow, and number 9 represents leading Thai New Forward ahead. He urged voters to think that the party will care best for their children, offering truly free education up to the bachelor's degree as a fundamental right. For fields the country lacks, master's and doctoral studies will be free. Importantly, they will provide breakfast until the end of primary school. Besides free education, all student loan debts will be forgiven because poor children should not be burdened with debt from the start. Schools will be safe spaces, and teachers will focus solely on student care after work.
Regarding cooperation with other parties, Mr. Suchatvee said they seek to practice constructive politics. The country needs unity most amid multifaceted problems. They are ready to work with all good, honest people who follow academic principles, without distortion or benefiting gray or black interest groups.
Meanwhile, Ms. Jitpas Tunkridakorn, party-list candidate and Thai New Forward party leader, emphasized the party's firm stance on the three pillars of the nation: "Nation, Religion, Monarchy" as central to their political work. They have no policy to amend or touch Section 112 of the Criminal Code. This position has been a core principle of the party, which remains steadfast in defending the monarchy to preserve national security and the sentiments of the majority of citizens.
Following criticism about the party leader's previous positive remarks about individuals from the Move Forward party on some issues, Ms. Jitpas clarified these were personal political opinions, not reflecting the party's stance or ideology. The party's position has always been clear: they do not support amending Section 112 and stand firmly to protect the monarchy, the heart of Thai people's unity. Thai New Forward will continue political work based on loyalty and steadfast principles, regardless of pressure or political trends at this time.
