The three prime ministerial candidates of the "People's Party" ask for the chance to govern the country, hoping to win as many seats as possible in the election.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party and prime ministerial candidate, stated that the party's list candidates are not drawn from any political quotas. He urged the public to compare with other parties, which may include members who switched parties or divided quotas. He affirmed that the People's Party's list candidates are selected solely based on genuine expertise and qualifications without quota divisions.
We aim for the highest possible number of party list MPs to ensure the People's Party is strong enough to form a government that prevents further broken promises. There is no pressure this time. From Future Forward to Move Forward to the People's Party, many have analyzed us, yet we have consistently exceeded those expectations. We are very confident of gaining more votes. However, we never underestimate the people's votes. No party owns the people forever. So, despite our confidence, from now until 8 Feb, it is our duty to meet as many citizens as possible to ask for their votes.
When asked if, in the future, the People's Party becomes the leading party, there is a chance to cooperate with Mr. Anutin, Mr. Natthapong said it depends on whether Mr. Anutin accepts the People's Party's conditions. He reminded that Mr. Anutin himself previously set conditions by twisting his words during a debate. He believes this matter should be settled now. The Constitutional Court has ruled that Article 112 cannot be used in election campaigning, so it should no longer be employed in campaigning.
We have set clear conditions that future ministers must have no history linked to gray areas, drugs, illegal online gambling, or scammer networks. We uphold the principle that politicians' standards must be higher than the law. It is unnecessary to wait for full legal cases to conclude; those in power must show responsibility and be subject to scrutiny.
Meanwhile, Mr. Veerayut Kanchuchat, a prime ministerial candidate, said that yesterday they spread out to encourage MP candidates nationwide. He visited Phuket Province to seek support from the people. Having fully fulfilled their role as the opposition, they now seek the chance to govern and implement policies that will bring change to the people.
Mr. Natthapong emphasized that this time they aim to secure as many seats as possible. If the people entrust them with enough parliamentary seats to set conditions for government formation, preventing coalition partners from breaking promises or betraying agreements as in the past, it will be best for them. Their current goal is to win the election with the highest possible vote.
