On the first day of registering party-list MPs, the Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai parties gathered to discuss before drawing party-list numbers. Yotsanan greeted Anutin while Kanwee held his hand and talked.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at Centara Life Hotel, Chaeng Watthana Government Complex, the atmosphere on the first day of registering party-list members of parliament and prime minister candidates saw political parties gradually arriving to verify their registration documents and pay the registration fee. The number drawing process allows candidates to agree on the order of drawing; if no agreement is reached, the draw occurs in two rounds.
In the first round, the chairman of the Election Commission draws the sequence numbers for each political party, matching the order of document submission.
In the second round, each party sends representatives to draw the numbers they will use for campaigning. Once assigned, parties can immediately begin their campaigns using these numbers.
Next, candidates pay a fee of 10,000 baht each, either in cash or by transferring to the party's fund account, then submit their registration documents.
Following this, candidates receive application forms, and the final step involves submitting party campaign policies and lists of prime minister candidates. Each party may submit up to three names or may choose not to submit any. However, by 08:30, the draw had not started because 37 parties were still verifying documents.
Before the draw began, about 200 police officers from Metropolitan Police Division 2 and Thung Song Hong Police Station provided assistance and maintained order. When Yotsanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai's prime ministerial candidate, entered the draw room, he respectfully greeted Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and leader of Bhumjaithai, who was already present awaiting the draw.
Then, Chulaphan Amornwiwat, Pheu Thai leader and prime ministerial candidate, and Suriya Juangroongruangkit, also a candidate, stood together for a brief discussion. From Bhumjaithai, Warawut Silpa-archa and Eknat Phromphan joined the conversation. Additionally, Kanwee Suebsang, leader of the Palawat Party, approached and politely spoke with Anutin without displaying the hostility seen on social media. Kusumalwadee Sirikomut, who had previous legal disputes, also came to talk with Anutin. At one point, Anutin conversed with Trinuch Thienthong, prime ministerial candidate of the Palang Pracharath Party.
At 08:50, Narong Klanwarin, chairman of the Election Commission, announced that 52 parties had registered before 08:30. He emphasized that all parties must complete document verification before being eligible for the draw to ensure the process runs smoothly. He also confirmed preparedness for registration, nomination of prime minister candidates, and upcoming elections and referendum scheduled for 8 Feb 2026. The commission reminded voters to register for early voting by 5 Jan 2026 and that out-of-district referendum registration is open from 3-5 Jan 2026.
