Jatuporn emphasized that the Pheu Thai Party is moving forward with civil society to campaign for a 'approve' vote in the referendum on the new constitution. He pointed out that all political parties have the legal right to campaign, and the Election Commission must provide equal opportunities.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at Centara Grand Hotel, Government Complex Chaeng Watthana, Mr. Jatuporn Chaiyasang, Chairman of the Referendum and People's Constitution Communication Campaign Committee of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about joining civil society campaigns during the candidate registration period for party-list MPs. He reaffirmed Pheu Thai's stance on continuously pushing for a new constitution and stated that campaigning is legal, with the Election Commission required to facilitate freedom, equality, and fairness.
"The Pheu Thai Party has a clear policy of supporting and promoting the drafting of a new constitution continuously. We have proposed constitutional amendments and ultimately jointly submitted a motion for Parliament to vote to send it to the Cabinet for a referendum asking the public whether they approve the drafting of a new constitution. Therefore, this policy has been clear up to this election."
Jatuporn also cited the freedoms under the Referendum Act, saying all sectors can campaign fully. He noted the rights and freedoms in the current Referendum Act allow citizens, political parties, private groups, civil society, or organizations the constitutional freedom to campaign for the referendum vote freely, equally, and fairly. He emphasized the Election Commission's role to facilitate and provide fair communication space, stating the commission must cooperate by opening channels to explain and inform the public, and allow citizens and political parties full participation in campaigning.
Regarding the Pheu Thai Party's campaign committee work, Jatuporn said the party has officially established a campaign committee and is ready to coordinate with all parties throughout the election and referendum period, which fall on the same day. He said,
"The Pheu Thai Party has announced the formation of the campaign committee, with me as chairman. We have declared our willingness to cooperate with all political parties, civil society, and organizations that want a new constitution to campaign throughout this election period and up to election day, which coincides with the referendum voting day."
Finally, Jatuporn thanked civil society and the event organizers, reaffirmed his ongoing participation, and expressed commitment to join all related activities.
