Commander Pasakorn Siriphakayaporn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission, summarized the overall picture of MP registrations for both constituency and party-list elections. Overall, 3,199 candidates registered for the 400 constituency seats over the past two days, according to data as of 16:45 on 28 December 2025 GMT+7.

The EC Deputy Secretary-General also addressed the referendum process, stating that they are currently awaiting the Prime Minister's announcement of the referendum voting date, expected on 2 January 2026. He emphasized that voter registration must be done separately for each vote. For the MP election, early voting is scheduled for 1 February 2026, with advance voter registration open from 20 December 2025 to 5 January 2026. For the referendum, the law mandates a single nationwide voting day with no early voting; however, out-of-district voting registration will be open from 3 to 5 January 2026, with voting on 8 February 2026, the same day as nationwide elections.
“Regarding the referendum timeline, the Prime Minister is expected to announce the voting date on 2 January 2026, with out-of-district voting registration open from 3 to 5 January 2026. On 4 February 2026, the number of eligible overseas voters and the countries where registration occurred will be announced. The process will continue according to this timeline until voting day on 8 February 2026.”
