
Dr. Niyom Vechakama, former Pheu Thai MP for District 2, is running for MP in Sakon Nakhon District 2 under the New Opportunity Party. Meanwhile, former MP Watcharin Sritaporn has fielded his wife as a candidate in District 7 representing the Thai People's Party.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, it was reported that this was the second day of MP candidate registration for constituency seats in Sakon Nakhon Province at the Chajuree Auditorium, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. Dr. Niyom Vechakama, former MP for Sakon Nakhon District 2 from the Pheu Thai Party, submitted his candidacy documents to run for MP in District 2 under the New Opportunity Party, following five candidates who registered on the first day:
Dr. Niyom stated that he joined the New Opportunity Party believing the public will give him a chance, trusting his track record of debating and solving issues for constituents. Additionally, there is a candidate from the Thai People's Party, Mrs. Tatsanee Sritaporn, a retired civil servant and wife of Mr. Watcharin Sritaporn, former two-term MP for Sakon Nakhon. She emphasizes the themes of developing people, creating jobs, and building careers as she competes in this election.
